Carousel Composer Goes Big
Carousel Composer now runs across PoeysiaPRO on Mac, Windows and the web, with a faster public version for turning an idea into something quickly.
Carousel Composer started as a small web tool. Now it runs across PoeysiaPRO on Mac, Windows and the web, while a faster public version handles the moments when you just want to turn an idea into something quickly.

From one feature to three ways in
A few days ago we introduced Carousel Composer as the first tool inside the new PoeysiaPRO web workspace. That already felt like a fairly big step. PoeysiaPRO had started as a local-first desktop application built around video, and suddenly there was a second place at pro.poeysia.com for creative work that simply made more sense in a browser.
We did not stop there. Carousel Composer is now part of PoeysiaPRO on Mac and Windows too, sitting alongside the existing tools instead of living as a separate web experiment. You can start with a website, an idea, a blog post or your own text, turn it into a complete carousel, refine the individual slides and export the finished set without leaving the desktop app.
That changes the role Carousel Composer has inside PoeysiaPRO. What started as a new web feature has become one of the main creative workflows across the product.
The fast flow
There is a reason we did not simply build one version and call it finished. The same creative task can start in very different situations.
If you are already inside PoeysiaPRO working on clips or another piece of content, opening a separate website just to make a carousel makes little sense. The Mac and Windows versions put the Composer right where that work is already happening. A good idea from a video, a topic you want to expand on or another piece of content from the same source can become a carousel without changing tools.
But sometimes the exact opposite is true. You have a product page, a new blog post or a random idea and you do not want to open a full creative workspace. You just want to throw something in, see what comes out and decide whether it is worth taking further.
That is what poeysia.com/carousel-composer is for.

Paste a website and the public Carousel Composer reads the visual language that is already there, from colours and typography to imagery and other recognizable parts of the brand. From there you can let it find an idea from the website, use an existing blog post or simply give it your own text.
Instead of starting with an empty canvas, you get an actual first version of the carousel. The story is already broken into slides and the visual direction comes from the brand you gave it. You can move through the result, edit the copy, change the direction and see everything in a phone-like preview.

The important part is not that this version has fewer controls. It is that it removes everything that gets in the way of going from “I wonder what this would look like” to having something in front of you. For many ideas, that is all the interface you need.

And the full Pro workflow
When that first version turns into something you actually want to publish, there is PoeysiaPRO. The full browser workspace at pro.poeysia.com gives the Composer more room, while the Mac and Windows apps bring the same workflow into the desktop product alongside Clips.

The underlying idea is the same across all of them, but the amount of interface around it changes. Sometimes the right tool is a desktop workspace you can keep open for hours. Sometimes it is a browser application with the deeper controls but none of the installation. And sometimes it should just be a URL where you paste something and have a result a few moments later.
Building those three ways into Carousel Composer does not mean building three different products. It means letting the depth of the product match the job someone is trying to do.
Your content already exists
This is also getting closer to the larger idea behind where we want to take PoeysiaPRO. Most companies and creators are not actually short on things to talk about. They have websites, product pages, articles, videos, podcasts, documentation and half-finished ideas sitting everywhere. What is missing is usually the time to turn all of that into the formats every platform expects.

Carousel Composer approaches that problem from the other direction. Instead of asking you to start another design from scratch, it starts with what already exists. Give it the brand, give it the source and let the first draft happen before you spend time polishing it.
That was the original idea when Carousel Composer was still an internal tool filling our own slide templates. The difference is that it now has a much bigger place to live.
The public Composer at poeysia.com/carousel-composer is the fastest way in. PoeysiaPRO Web at pro.poeysia.com is there when you want the full browser experience. And PoeysiaPRO on Mac and Windows keeps the Composer next to the rest of your content workflow.

Carousel Composer started as a small addition to PoeysiaPRO. A few days later, it is available pretty much everywhere we can put it.
And we are only getting started.
